Summary
Non-Euclidean spaces have greatly advanced our understanding of mathematics and the universe, yet many properties of Euclidean spaces remain incompletely understood. Puzzles such as the Rubik’s Cube and JAAP puzzles have long been used to study group theory and combinatorial spaces. A puzzle that has been previously overlooked and can help us understand Euclidean space is the excavated dodecahedron (ED).
Our researchers created the Arty Puzzle, an innovative three-dimensional puzzle, inspired by the rhombic dodecahedron, a geometric shape known for its mathematical elegance. This puzzle was conceived to merge geometry with art, creating a unique experience that challenges spatial reasoning while offering aesthetic appeal. Unlike traditional puzzles, Arty introduces a continuous closed curve across its surface, which serves as the primary solving mechanism.
