System And Method For A Vehicle-Mounted Nutrient Management System

Tech ID: 21B156

Advantages:

  • Provides a mobile wastewater treatment system that can offer onsite treatment, even in remote locations.
  • Expedites the capture and removal of nutrients, and treats larger volumes at once, versus current decentralized systems.
  • Offers a more sustainable and effective method of wastewater treatment.

Summary:

USF inventors have designed a mobile wastewater treatment system that can fully capture and remove nutrients on-site, even in remote locations. Most cities carry out wastewater treatment via centralized treatment plants; however, this is not always feasible for areas with limited resources. Decentralized wastewater treatment systems are currently available but are unable to treat large amounts of waste at once, or sustainably treat nutrients. The new mobile treatment system presented here can fully remove nutrients from the wastewater, rather than just temporarily store them as current decentralized systems do. It is also capable of treating larger volumes at once, which expedites and improves the sustainability of the process as well. The methods behind this invention are also applicable to industrial wastewater treatment and nutrient management.
