Metabolic Therapy for Wound Healing

Tech ID: 13A053

Competitive Advantages

  • Decreased inflammation
  • Decreased blood glucose
  • Increased blood perfusion

Summary

Chronic wounds occur and sustain due to aging and poor metabolic health resulting in inflammation, reduced tissue perfusion, restricted nutrient intake and oxygen availability. Subsequently, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production is decreased.  A method of using specific ketone bodies in metabolic therapy to reverse impaired wound healing through alternative fuel, increasing ATP synthesis, decreasing inflammation, reducing blood glucose, increasing blood perfusion and decreasing radical oxygen species (ROS) production.
