Adaptive Tests of Temporal Resolutions (ATTR)

Tech ID: 08A030

Competitive Advantages

  • Simple software which does not require specialized hardware
  • Efficient measure of gap detection in patients ranging from 7 to 85 years
  • Stable and sensitive

Summary

The Adaptive Test of Temporal Resolution (ATTR) is a software program that implements standard psychophysical laboratory procedures (adaptive testing with 2I/2AFC), without the need for specialized hardware beyond a standard desktop computer equipped with a sound card. ATTR is a clinical audiology test that has been used to measure gap detection among patients aged 7 to 85 years. Results of multiple studies indicate that the ATTR is a stable and sensitive measure of gap detection across the lifespan and may be a useful addition to the clinical audiology test battery.
