Enhancing Performance of Beyond 5G Networks Through Adaptive Windowing and CP Alignment

Tech ID: 17B140

Competitive Advantages

  • Reduce signal degeneration at hardware & maximize energy efficiency
  • Minimize interference to improve rates & reliability
  • Backward compatible with LTE, forward compatible beyond 5G

Summary

USF researchers have invented a novel algorithm that utilizes adaptive CP windowing and CP alignment signals to jointly suppress the interference caused to the network, increase the energy efficiency, reduce quantization noise and eliminate received interference. Capacity of the wireless channel is maximized for all devices sharing the network regardless of their received power, maximizing overall network capacity. This algorithm is backward compatible with the legacy LTE and Wi-Fi structures, but its importance becomes prominent in 5G and beyond wireless cellular networks.
