Summary
USF researchers have designed a porous organic polymer for efficient uranium capture. This technology is stable under a wide range of conditions and is a capable mechanism for uranium removal, with high capacity and specificity. The material is easy to produce and it is also reusable. This porous organic polymer may expand the scope of current applications, providing many opportunities to advance current materials and devices aimed toward extraction of uranium from seawater and nuclear waste.

The Microscopic Pore Sizes of the Polymer Allows for an Extremely Efficient Uranium Nano-Trap
